In an era defined by astonishingly rapid changes in IT innovation and business, the CEOs of technology companies tackle highly complex challenges every day. The most admired ones, however, never appear to let the pressure get to them. In fact, judging by the following 2017 list of “Highest Rated CEOs” from Glassdoor, they seem to relish the often risky opportunities that come with the job. In addition, the “Employees’ Choice” tech company CEOs on this list bring interesting and often eclectic backgrounds to the table: One is a martial arts expert and instructor. Another played soccer in the Olympics. There’s even a “Deadhead” in the group (a reference to the Grateful Dead). Ultimately, however, they’re all great leaders. “CEO approval ratings correlate to overall employee satisfaction and trust in senior leadership, which contributes to long-term employee engagement, ultimately helping an employer’s recruiting and retention efforts,” said Robert Hohman, Glassdoor co-founder and CEO. The list, along with the employee approval ratings included here, was compiled based on company reviews submitted to Glassdoor by U.S.-based employees.
